Highly textured acrylic on canvas. Inspired by multiple images I took in Finland. I was lucky enough to see the Aurora Borealis twice, once whilst in Norway and the other when in Finland. Using Icy colours I wanted to capture the crisp sub zero temperatures, and the bright moonlit snow from the full moon. When I experienced this image in person, it was tempting to not appreciate the snow, trees and colours of the earth as the sky was stealing the attention with the bright green smoke, but I really focused on ensuring I captured the beauty of the whole night not just the sky within this painting.
