About Me

Hi! I’m Emma, nice to meet you!

I’m from the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. I enjoy running, hiking, travelling, nutrition, and eating. However, art for me – whether that be sewing, building, drawing, or painting –  has always been my most loved and therapeutic activity. I love to see people’s reactions to something I made for them, and feel that satisfaction of completing a project.

I use acrylics as my most prominent medium, however I occasionally incorporate charcoal, inks, pastels, collage techniques, watercolour, multi-mediums and of course digital work. I don’t feel that I have just one style. I get caught up in creating and using styles and techniques that suit the meaning and mood of the piece. However one constant for me: I always opt towards bright, ocean vibes or textured and messy! Some of my artworks have very deep meanings, and some portray more of a specific mood than a story or explicit message. On this website you can find my original piece’s inspiration or explanations via clicking on an original product and viewing the description.

Art for me has always been that creative outlet. It’s the only time my mind is thinking of one thing (which is very rare); or in other words, it’s the only time I’m not being ‘hyperactive.’ Perhaps you could say I am ‘hyper-focused.’ Being creative is being myself. Through the ups and downs of life, art allows me to stay connected to the important things.

Thankyou everyone for taking the time to get to know me. I appreciate your love and support.

If you want to really know your artist… (unfiltered)

Bright/Funky

Hi, this is Emma speaking plainly, I am seen by some as spontaneous, quirky, crazy, silly and humorous I guess… If indeed you have noticed I have dramatic changes in art styles, I’d say it’d have something to do with my dramatic feelings and moods. Sometimes I feel so energetic, happy and almost frantic, and I guess that’s how I would say my bright and funky artworks are portrayed. When I’m in this electric state I want my art to brighten a room with the same energy and vibrance. I absolutely adore the energy I have sometimes and all I want to do is add more and more and more colours to my paintings, almost an explosion of “wow” on a canvas.

Realism/Landscapes

However, sometimes I need an escape. Some days I relish in the serene and calm, it honestly can be tiring being so “hyperactive.” That’s why you may have noticed a complete change in style from the graffiti/bright artworks compared to my underwater and landscape scenes. When I paint such scenes, it really slows me down, in a good way, it’s calm and it’s almost like I’m resting through concentration and feeling as if I’m present in the image I’m creating. Once I complete a serene or realist piece I adore the subtle colour palette and attention to detail, it brings me back to my calm and greatfulness of the earth.

So in a summary, I can’t refine my art style, maybe I will one day. For now, I enjoy every style you see too much to limit myself. I need both sides of myself to create, I appreciate both and will continue to show you both. I feel and think many different things, when I paint it’s the same, for you I want you to be able to choose what you like based on how it makes you feel or want to feel. I hope you find your piece somewhere within my store ❤️
